About Cathy

Cathy Dana, M.S., CHT, CMT, is a firewalking hypnotherapist with a black belt in Aikido.  As one of only 21 Certified Conscious Embodiment instructors in the world, she teaches centering practices.  With a master’s degree in counseling, she has spent the last 30+ years practicing and teaching bodywork and hypnotherapy, combining the two to create

Transformational Touch.

A former Vice-President of the Bay Area Body Therapy Guild, Cathy won the 2004-5  Member of the Year of the Northern California chapter of the National Speakers Association.  To help others overcome the fear of public speaking and become confident and comfortable speaking, Cathy has facilitated speaking circle groups for over ten years.

In a wilderness survival training, Cathy carved a bow-drill and made fire.  Sitting around a campfire, Cathy had nerves of steel to face down a skunk which actually brushed against the skin of her legs.   Another time, with her three year old son hiding behind her, she held her ground until a snarling, black wolf-like dog in a snow covered meadow slowly slunk away.  Cathy has been a wilderness backpacking leader in the Rockies, the Sierras, and Big Sur.
